Teavana Review!!

(these photos are the product pics from the website as my camera is still lost among the seats of Hunter’s car)

Yesterday, my lovely, handsome man brought me one of the best gifts (set really) that I’ve EVER received! He brought me a custom Teavana flavoured tea, a beautiful tea tin, and a handy little tea maker. I’m doing a simple and quick review on all of these, thus, Teavana Review.

Precious White Peach White Tea

Precious White Peach® White Tea
Product Description: “An incredibly smooth blend of delicious peach pieces and downy white tea buds. ”

Health Benefits: “High in antioxidants, aids in detoxifying the body, studies show white tea is excellent for skin/complexion reducing fine lines and wrinkles. ”

My Notes: This is am absolutely wonderful tea! I love it. It’s sweet and fruity, though I do add agave nectar to sweeten it a bit more. I like it warm, but I also think it’s wonderful at room temperature (I’ve yet to try it chilled, but I’m sure it’ll be great.) As it cools, the tea taste weakens a bit and the peachy taste shines through. It’s sold as loose tea leaves, which I actually like more. Be careful when brewing, cause white teas are sensitive and tricky. The website directions say to brew for a minute, the lable with mine said two minutes, but the instructions I use are the ones Hunter got specifically form his favorite sales lady. She said to brew for only 45 seconds, because the longer the tea brews, it can and will get bitter. I really love this tea. I really suggest it to anyone who likes tea, or more specifically, sweet or fruity teas.

Teavana Perfect Tea Maker

Product Description: “Our new and improved tea maker brews the perfect cup every time! It is the most efficient, simple and clean way to steep tea. Simply add tea and water at the correct temperature, then put the tea maker on your favorite mug. The patented drain mechanism will strain the tea into your cup and keep the leaves in the tea maker. Four piece construction allows you to remove the filter for cleaning and easily reassemble. Brews 16oz (2 cups) of tea and fits cups with a 3.5 inch diameter. Made of sturdy polycarbonate that is BPA free.”

My Notes: This little machine is one of the handiest things I have ever used/had/seen. The moment we pulled it out of the box, I had to use it. (Wanting to try the tea helped the rush a bit.) I really like that I can make the tea cup by cup. I heat the water in whatever cup I plan to drink out of (usually a coffee mug as I get annoyed with the darling, but child sized, tea cups.) While the water’s heating I put 2 or 3 teaspoons of tea (I like it strong) in the maker and just pour the hot water in. Brew for the appropriate time, then, the magic happens. This thing pours itself! I love that part of it, straining and filling my cup all in one motion! It especially useful since I use just the water from my drinking cup, i don’t have to worry about over filling it. I absolutely love this product! I recommend this to all tea fanatics.

Washi Tea Tin

Product Description: “Each of these colorful tins is covered in Washi paper, which is handmade from mulberry paper. The random design and color gives each a distinct look. But the tins are different, so your final colors and design are likely to be very different from the one shown. Because of the handmade nature of the paper, we cannot promise specific colors or styles. Each tea tin holds 16oz of most teas, depending on the size of the leaf. And they have a sealable top to keep your teas fresh for up to a year. ”

My Notes: The above photo was taken with my webcam since, as I said above, my camera is in Hunter’s car. These tins are beautiful and I love the thought that no one else out the has one EXACTLY like mine. These come in three sizes, 3 oz, 5 oz, and 13 oz. I can’t really say too much about it other then to comment on the custom beauty of it or to compliment Hunter’s wonderful choice in print (from knowing me for so long. Poor guy.) I would consider this a wonderfully loli-esque item, since it it unique and they’re so pretty.

Check out Teavana! It’s wonderful, and is in partnership with the CARE program!

Routines, fun fun fun!

I think most of us have started bakc at school, I’ve just started my seocnd week, though it feels like longer. On this subject I wanted to talk about routines. I think we all get into them, I’m very percise about mine, usually, on normal days. Come home, snack, homework and catching up on Haunted History, TV and computer, maybe see Hunter, eat dinner, shower, pill at 9pm, bed at 9:30. (yes I take a sleeping pill, and I hate it! Can’t find a natural thing that works for me 😡 ) What kind of routines do ya’ll get into, or do you just not?

Other then that, this last weeks been ok. I’ve had one test in every class in the past week and have another test in atleast two classes friday. Yuck. But I am enjoying the year, it’s not too bad.

Yesterday, Hunter (note he hates country music) went to Black Top Boogie with me!! Best of all, he actually enjoyed himself!!! Then he took me to Pinnacle Mt. and we hiked up to watch the sunset. It was so wonderful 🙂 I highly suggest sunsets for every couple, cause it’s amazingly sweet and magnificent to watch together. I’ll have pics whenever I get my camera out of his car XD.

What have ya’ll been up to?

Today I recieved my senior portraits in the mail! For the casual portraits, I chose to wear lolita. 🙂 I actually wore my yellow vintage skirt from Savannah, GA. and my off white ruffle blouse from Forever21. I also took my white lace parasol for my prop. In retrospect, I wish I had taken my leather bound Lewis Carol collection as a prop as well, but I hadn’t thought of it. I think the photos came out wonderful. 🙂

Since my last post, I’ve also coloured my hair. I don’t have any photos to put up yet, but I will. What colour you ask? Black! Jet black, with a kind of modified Hime cut 😀 I love it.
Until next time,

Today is Hunter’s second day of school! I don’t start until Thursday, but because I’m nice and a homemaker-to-be, I’ve made him lunches the past two days. I’m making both his and my lunches in a bento style, even though I, sadly, don’t have any technical bento boxes. I think my tupperware/rubber maid boxes work just fine for a start. 🙂
So here’s what he’s had the past two days.

The above bento features:
Turkey sandwich “pencil” & triangle
Checkered Apple
Pineapple
Yogurt (unpictured)

I didn’t picture it, but his breakfast was a fried egg and sausage on a biscut, to go style. ❤

This one features:
Raelynn’s special Chili Concotion
Cheese flowers
2 Onigri
Pineapple
Bread (unpictured)

For breakfast (also forgot to picture), pancake sandwiches (two small/medium pancakes with sausage in the middle). Once again, to go style. I also included a “snack” incase breakfast or lunch wasn’t enough. This was apple chunks and banana coins.  ❤

I’m really enjoying making bentos, even though they’re not as kawaii as I’d like (because kawaii at an all boys school just screams bad idea.) I plan to work on that part with my lunches with special help from the wonderful book Yum Yum Bento Box!  ❤

Now to enjoy my second to last day of summer and go back to sleep!! Night night ❤

Spirit Bound

I just finished this wonderful novel (after working on reading it since BEFORE Europe.) In true Richelle Mead fashion, it was a wonderful mix of romance, heartbreak, humour, sadness, and too many other emotions to name. I absolutely love this series, Vampire Academy, and its characters. The plot is brilliant and original. The characters are realistic. I reccomend this series to anyone who loves vampires, romances, and books about amazing friendships. 🙂
As I’ve done with every book I’ve read since freshman year, I marked specific parts of the novel that I like to type up and keep for future inspiration and amusement. So here we go :

If ever there was a distraction, it was someone wanting to kill me.

“It figures. You’re the only girl who;d get all emotional about the thought of killing. I don’t even want to think about what goes on when you and [your boyfriend] are alone.”

“Is that a gun?”
“I’m not stopping to find out.”

“Be sorry you lied. Don’t be sorry you loved him. That part of you, part you have to let go, yeah, but still something that’s made you who you are.”

“I can think of many words to describe you, sexy and hot being at the top ofthe list. You know what’s not on the list? Sane.
“Okay, well, then my job is to be the less  crazy one.”
“That I can accept.”

“Your optimism… your belief that you can make anything happen. It’s one of the amazing thing about you. It’s also one of the most infuriating things about you.”

“Maybe my belief in the impossible isn’t so crazy after all.”

Massacres, miracles… it didn’t matter. Everything was cause for a party.

“Wecan argue your messed-up unholy schedule some other time.”

“No dhampir is off my list of evil creatures.”

“Okay. I believe you.
“Really?”
“Do you want me to not believe you?”
“No, it was just easier that I thought convincing you.”

“Don’t you think that if God can supposedly forgive you, it’s kind of egotistical for you not to forgive yourself?”

“I’m addicted to you. Somehow I think you could do all sorts of bad things to me, and I’d still come back to you.”

I I had learned anything about life and love, it was that they were tenuous things that could end at any moment.

Cautions was essential – but not at the cost of wasting your life.

“I cheat at cards and buy liwuor for minors. But I would never, ever force you into something you don’t want.”

Please NOTE: If you like any of these enough to repost or use them, make sure you credit back to Richelle Mead, these are her words.

Still on the books note, I bought four more books today. 🙂

  • Beauty – Robin McKinley
  • Spindle’s End – Robin McKinley
  • Don’t Judge a Girl by Her Cover – Ally Carter
  • Blue Moon – Alyson Noël

I can’t wait to get started! I think I’ll read Beauty first 🙂

Fairytales : Belle la Vie ??

For as long as I’ve been into Lolita and Princess Styles, I’ve been working on getting together a brand of my own (called Belle la Vie), handmade, jewelry. (and maybe later clothes?) I’ve gotten more so dedicated to this goal recently! 🙂 My newest idea are fairytale themes. Apples, roses, books, etc. I’ve dabbled with cupcakes and candies, but they seem so done to me. They’re everywhere, aren’t they? Of course all of these things are just in toddler stages (and growing steadily!), but I wanted to knwo if anyone wanted to give some feedback?

Other then that, just wanted an update to say I am a live, getting ready for school, and working on something that I’ll reveal to ya’ll soon 🙂

Keep your Religion out of Lolita. (Don’t Flip, Just Read It.)

“IDC if it’s your religion, it’s ugly.”
Generally that’s what I’ve been seeing on Lolita Secrets. It. Sickens. Me. I understand stateing a point and giving criticism. Isn’t that what so many Lolitas look for online, criticism? But saying that an outfit is ugly, especially dissing a religion? I say that is over stepping a line. I’ll be the first to admitt that a head wrap looks different and, if not in the right colour, can look not-so-great, but it’s not my place to say that it’s ugly. I honestly think many girls in the pictures I’ve seen can pull it off rather well (see above for example.)
I’ve also seen the argument “Lolita is fashion, not religion.” the Get-your-religion-out-of-my-Lolita arguement. That too bugs me. Yes, Lolita is fashion. The head wrap (I only use this example because I’ve seen the most drama about it) isn’t fashion. These beautiful women are not adding it as an accessory, they’d wear it at any other time as well. It is part of who they are. What is Lolita if not a way to express yourself? What is any fashion if you cannot express yourself as who you are? Would we attack a Jewish person for wearing a star of david with Lolita? No? Lets get a bit more controversial. What about a pagan?
I am a Pagan. I will announce that loudly and proudly if ever asked. The only reason I’ve not posted it on here before is that I respect the barrier of fashion and religion. Just because I know and respect the boundries does not mean I’m not going to wear a triquatra or, heavens forbid in my bible belt home, an pentacle with my Lolita. Lolita is part of me. Paganism is part of who I am. The writer, the Cherokee. These are all equal parts of me. If I want to wear a pettit coat with a pentacle and feathers, then I should have the right to without being told I look ugly. Fashion, Lolita specifically (in my opinion), is supposed to be something to bring people together. If the lovely lady above didn’t wear her head dress, nor I my pentacle, nor a Jewish girl her star, nor a Christian girl her cross, could we not all admire a new print or lace quality? Why should a piece of cloth, a necklace, a pendant, a belief, why should it stop us from incouraging eachother and being together as Lolitas?
Just My opinion. Have an arguement? Comment. Nothing rude please. If you disagree feel free to say so politely.

Princess Raelynn

*Though/Question of the day*
Why does it seem the Lolita community is so catty?
